Service
Commercial & structural shotcrete.
South Coast Gunite applies structural and commercial shotcrete across Houston and the Gulf Coast — for commercial pools, aquatic structures, and large-scale concrete work built to spec. As an experienced gunite and shotcrete contractor, we also work as a subcontractor for pool builders and general contractors who need a reliable crew for the structural shell.

Shotcrete and gunite create exceptionally strong, monolithic structures — ideal for commercial aquatic facilities, water features, and engineered applications that have to perform under load and weather. We bring 20+ years of pneumatically-applied concrete experience to every commercial project.

Common questions
Do you work as a subcontractor for pool builders and general contractors?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Builders and GCs bring us in to shoot the structural shell and hand it back ready for the trades that follow. There is a page specifically for that: send plans or dimensions and get a bid on the shell.
What is the difference between gunite and shotcrete on a commercial job?
They are two ways of placing the same thing: sprayed structural concrete over a steel frame. Gunite is the dry mix, with water added at the nozzle; shotcrete is the wet mix, batched before it reaches the hose. Both produce a monolithic structure. Which one suits a job depends on the spec, the access and the scale of the pour.
What kinds of commercial work do you shoot?
Commercial pools and aquatic structures, engineered retaining walls, water features, and structural concrete applications that have to perform under load and weather. Work is shot to the engineer's specification.
Why use sprayed concrete instead of formed and poured?
Because it does not need two-sided formwork. Sprayed concrete is placed against one face, so curved, sloped and irregular structures that would be expensive or impractical to form can be built directly, and the result is one continuous piece rather than an assembly with joints.
